Excellent Shine and Hold!
I've been using this pomade for a little over a month now and I'm thrilled with the results. It gives my hair an excellent shine and hold without making it feel heavy or greasy. I would highly recommend it!
Not Suitable for My Hair Type
Unfortunately, this product did not work well for me. I have very fine hair and it ended up looking greasy and weighed down after using it. It might work for other hair types, but for mine, it was a no-go.
Great for Taming Frizz
I deal with frizz on a daily basis and this product has been a game changer. It tames my frizz without leaving a sticky residue. It's become a staple in my haircare routine.
Decent Performance, But a Bit Pricey
The product does its job fairly well, providing a decent hold and shine. However, for the price, I was expecting a little more. It's not bad, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price tag.
Unpleasant Scent
While the hold and shine were satisfactory, I couldn't get past the scent. It was too overpowering for my liking and lingered throughout the day. If you're sensitive to strong fragrances, this might not be the product for you.
Good, But Not Remarkable
It's a decent product. It gives some shine and hold, but nothing extraordinary. It does its job, but I'm not sure if I would repurchase. I might try other products to compare.
Dove Polishing Pomade is a hair care product designed to deliver a strong, sleek hold, ideal for achieving a slicked back look with added shine. Although thick in texture, it offers an extreme hold that lasts all day without giving a waxy or clumpy feeling. This makes it particularly effective for curly hair, providing both quick styling and long-lasting hold.
While the pomade has a pleasing aroma that appeals to both men and women, enhancing its attractiveness, it may not be the best fit for every hair type, especially very thick hair. Its fragrance is an additional selling point. The product imparts a polished finish to hair, contributing to the longevity of braided styles and improving hair volume and texture.
Though it might leave hair with a slightly greasy appearance, it doesn't result in a waxy or dry feeling. It's essential to rinse it out properly to prevent a hard and greasy texture the next day. Despite its high shine, the pomade doesn't leave hair feeling greasy.
Priced between $5 and $10, Dove Polishing Pomade is easily washable and doesn't leave any residue, making it a convenient choice for those familiar with Dove's men's care range. However, users should be careful not to overuse it to avoid excessive shine. Despite these minor issues, the pomade offers a sleek, natural look without too much shine or greasiness, making it a valuable addition to hair care routines.
How strong is the hold of Dove Polishing Pomade?
It provides a strong, sleek hold that is ideal for achieving a slicked-back style. The hold lasts throughout the day without making hair feel stiff or clumpy.
Does it leave a greasy or shiny finish?
The pomade provides a polished finish with some shine, but excessive application can make hair appear greasy. For a natural look, use a small amount and distribute evenly.
Is it suitable for all hair types?
It works best for curly and thicker hair types, helping to tame frizz and add definition. Those with fine hair may find it too heavy and prone to making their hair look greasy.
How long does the hold last?
The hold lasts all day, making it great for long-wearing hairstyles. However, in humid conditions or with very fine hair, some users may need minor touch-ups.
Does it wash out easily?
Yes, it is easy to wash out with regular shampoo, leaving no residue behind. Unlike some pomades, it doesn’t require multiple washes to remove.
What happens if I apply too much?
Overuse can lead to excess shine, making hair appear greasy rather than polished. Using a dime-sized amount and adjusting as needed will help avoid buildup.
How does it smell?
The pomade has a noticeable fragrance, which some users appreciate for its fresh and clean scent. However, others may find it too strong or overpowering.
Is it worth the price?
Priced between $5 and $10, it offers good value for those looking for an affordable pomade with strong hold and a polished finish. While not the most premium product, it performs well for its cost.
