Incredible Hold and Sculpting Ability
What I love about this clay is its incredible hold and sculpting ability. It keeps my hair styled just the way I want all day, even in humid weather. It truly lives up to its name as a "concrete" sculpting clay!
Hard to Apply
I struggled with the application process. It's quite hard and not as pliable as I would have liked, making it difficult to evenly distribute through my hair. This often leaves some clumps that are hard to smooth out.
Impressive Matte Finish
This clay delivers an impressive matte finish that looks very natural. It doesn't leave my hair looking greasy or shiny, which is exactly what I look for in a hair product. I get compliments on my hair quite often!
Good, But Takes Some Getting Used To
It provides excellent hold and a nice matte finish, but the application process takes some getting used to because of its hard texture. If you're patient enough to work with it, you'll get good results.
Dries Out Hair
One major drawback is that it dries out my hair. While the hold is great, my hair feels dry and straw-like after using it. I find myself needing to use a hair mask or deep conditioner more often to combat the dryness.
Has Its Pros and Cons
While it does offer solid hold and a desirable matte finish, it's not without its issues. The hard texture makes it difficult to apply, and it tends to dry out my hair. It's a mixed bag for me.
MANE TAME Concrete Sculpting Clay is a wax-based hair styling product known for its strong hold and aromatic qualities. It provides a stiff feel to hair, ensuring styles remain intact throughout the day without any movement.
The scent of this sculpting clay is reminiscent of typical men's grooming products with a hint of woodsy undertones. While this scent is appreciated by many for its masculine appeal, some users might find it overpowering, similar to the intensity of men's aftershave.
This product is effective in creating sleek and shiny hair, defined and polished styles, and enhancing natural texture and volume. It also excels in crafting tousled, beachy waves, adding volume and body, and delivering a matte, textured finish. Priced at $21, MANE TAME Concrete Sculpting Clay offers good value and is particularly suitable for thin hair, accommodating hair lengths of 1-2 inches on top and 2-4 inches on the sides.
The clay's hold lasts for up to 24 hours, and it washes out easily with water, leaving no residue or buildup, which is important for maintaining healthy hair. However, it's important to note that some users have reported that the clay can make hair feel heavy and weighed down. Additionally, overuse may result in hair appearing greasy and oily, potentially losing its natural texture and movement. Users should therefore be mindful of the amount applied to achieve the best balance between hold and natural hair feel.
