Perfect for Strong Hold
The hold it provides is simply phenomenal. With it, I can shape my hair into any style and trust it will stay put all day. I've even tested it during workouts, and it's held up admirably!
Overly Shiny Finish
I'm not a fan of the overly shiny finish it leaves. While it might work for some, it makes my hair look a bit greasy. I was hoping for a more matte look, which this gel didn't deliver.
Easily Applicable and Durable
One thing that stands out for me is how easy it is to apply. It spreads evenly without any hassle, and once it's set, it lasts the whole day, withstanding both heat and humidity.
Good Hold but Hard to Wash Out
While it does a great job of keeping my hairstyle in place, I find it a bit challenging to wash out at the end of the day. It takes a couple of thorough washes to get all of it out of my hair.
Dries Too Quickly
It dries way too quickly for my liking. You have to style your hair pretty fast, otherwise it dries and becomes hard to work with. This can make styling more stressful than it needs to be.
Strong Hold but Dries Quickly
While it certainly offers a powerful hold, it tends to dry out too quickly during the styling process. This makes it a bit hard to work with, especially if you're not super quick with your styling routine.
TIGI Power Play Gel is a hair styling product known for its strong, thick hold and appealing fragrance that endures throughout the day. It imparts a high-shine finish to the hair, making it ideal for achieving spiked styles without the drawbacks of stickiness or heaviness. This gel is effective in adding body and volume, enhancing natural texture, and creating definition.
It's particularly well-suited for fine and thin hair, where it adds both volume and hold. However, it may not be the best choice for those with coarse and thick hair. In terms of value, TIGI Power Play Gel is reasonably priced and offers long-lasting use, with a single container lasting up to six months or even up to three years. One of its notable advantages is the ease with which it can be washed off from both hair and hands, even without soap, which is a significant contrast to some Loreal gels that require soap for effective removal.
Nevertheless, users should pay attention to how they apply the product. Incorrect application can lead to the hair appearing dry or overly wet, stiff or greasy, and can result in flaking or an excessively heavy feel. Thus, proper application is key to achieving the desired results without these potential issues.
